What you will learn

Our advanced lessons can be grouped into a number of short outcome based courses. The first few videos show you a diamond fluted headboard build as we take you through creating a frame, marking out your diamond grid before upholstery and the finishing touches.

We'll also show you around a bare sofa frame and help you understand what makes a top quality frame with considerations for your own projects.

We then get into some more interesting shapes, from T-shaped cushions to curved-back chairs. Working with unconventional shapes can be challenging but we'll show you how to overcome it. Mastering these skills will really take your projects to another level.

The one in this video is made for a small double bed (UK Size), however you can adjust the measurements to fit any size bed you wish.

5. How to Add a Border to a Headboard - Plus how to Fix it to the Wall

You'll learn how to measure, cut and sew the border and how to allow for the stretch of the fabric so it fits perfectly.

6. Bespoke Sofa Frame Walk Around

We walk you around a bare sofa frame that we have had made bespoke. I'll show you what a high quality frame looks like!

7. Adding Wooden Panels to a Bespoke Frame to use as a Guide

This technique can be used to keep your studding absolutely straight or even for stapling your fabric and foam up to.

We show you how to take a template of a seat to make sure your seams sit perfectly on the corners.

With a significant curve like this one, you cannot use cardboard strip like we usually do across the top so we show you how to get around that

In this video we show you how to put a bottom (dust cover) on to a curved chair like this one.

This video is the last part of the series for this curved back chair, however it can also be a standalone video showing you how to add studs to a chair or sofa.

In this video I explain what a slipper chair is and walk you around the frame. Then I'll explain the order I plan to upholster the chair and why. Finally, I show how to stain and lacquer the legs and how to get a lovely smooth finish with a wet sand.
