What you will learn

We will show you how to create a bespoke headboard frame which means you can apply the lessons of this course to headboards of all sizes.

Following this we walk you through the steps of measuring and plotting the grid for your diamonds. Master this and you'll be creating beautiful bespoke boards in no time.

1. How to Build a Headboard Frame

The one in this video is made for a small double bed (UK size), however you can adjust the measurement s to fit any size bed you wish.

2. How to Measure and Grid your Diamonds for a Deep Buttoned Headboard

We'll show you the size diamonds that we feel look the best and where they should fall on the headboard.

3. How to Measure Your Diamonds for Fabric on a Deep Buttoned Headboard

You'll learn a couple of techniques on how to measure the size of your diamonds for your fabric and the allowances you need to make for the fabric.

4. How to Upholster a Deep Buttoned Headboard

We'll show you how we fold the fabric to make the diamonds and pull our buttons through and attach them on the back of the board.

5. How to Add a Border to a Headboard & Fix it to the Wall

You'll learn how to measure, cut and sew the border and how to allow for the stretch of the fabric so it fits perfectly.
